PAUL A. CUOMO, P.L.S.: Paul began his surveying career in 1958 with the California Division of Highways (Cal Trans). He became a Licensed Land Surveyor in 1973 and that year started teaching boundary classes at Santa Ana Jr. College. He left Cal Trans in 1980 and joined the Orange County Surveyor’s Office as Deputy County Surveyor. He “retired” in 1993 to become a consultant in the boundary and mapping fields. Paul is the founder and president of Pacific Land Seminars. and owner of PCPI. He is co-author of the acclaimed book Advanced Land Descriptions ( Landmark ) and author of Surveying Principles for Civil Engineers ( P.P.I. ). He has been an Expert Examiner for the State Board of Registration and has presented classes and seminars in Arizona, California, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon and Washington. He was President of the California Land Surveyor’s Association in 1989 and is currently Chairman of the California Foundation for Land Surveying Education.
ANTHONY C. 'TONY' CUOMO, PLS: Tony began his land surveying career in 1974, working weekends and summers with his father, Paul. He began surveying 'full-time' in 1980 with the County of Orange, California. While working in the public sector from 1980 - 1985, Tony acquired a wide variety of field and office experience, including cadastral surveys, boundary surveys, high order horizontal and vertical control surveys, construction surveys, topographic surveys, and hydrographic surveys. From 1985 - 2005, Tony worked in Orange and Los Angeles counties for three prominent firms. In the private sector, Tony gained experience in the preparation and review of subdivision mapping, legal descriptions, and A.L.T.A. surveys. He now works as a consultant throughout the southland on projects including residential lot survey’s, large scale subdivision mapping, expert testimony, and A.L.T.A. surveys. Tony’s wide experience base has made him one of our best equipped instructors. He has been an instructor with Pacific Land Seminars since 1992, developing the material for the L.S.I.T. Workshop and portions of the L.S. Workshop. He has presented the L.S.I.T. Workshop and a variety of continuing education seminars on A.L.T.A. surveys and Advanced Land Description techniques throughout the Western United States, including Northern and Southern California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona.
JEREMY EVANS, P.L.S.: Jeremy is the Corporate Director of Surveying at a large California based surveying and engineering firm and is also in charge of training for all the branches of the firm. He is the Chairman of the Surveying and Mapping Advisory Committee at Santiago Canyon Community College and has taught Advanced Survey Problems, Land Descriptions and Boundary Control classes for over 15 years. He is an instructor at Pacific Land Seminars L.S. review workshop and has presented workshops on Astronomy, State Plane Coordinate Systems and Error Analysis for the California Land Surveyors Association and for the Minnesota Society for Professional Surveyors.
JOHN S.“STEVE” PARRISH, P.L.S.: Steve is a Registered Land Surveyor in 7 states. He has extensive experience in surveying the Public Lands throughout much of the Western United States. After 20 years with the Forest Service he transferred to the B.L.M in 1985. He served as Cadastral Branch Chief for B.L.M. – Nevada from 1989 until his retirement in 1995. Along with his extensive lecturing duties he is currently associated with a firm in Sparks, NV., doing boundary consulting and expert witness work. He has given scores of presentations on U.S.P.L.S.S. , evidence, courtroom procedures and standards of care. Steve is a regular instructor for the Pacific Land Seminar L.S. review workshop and has authored chapters on Mining Surveying and Land Surveys in The Surveying Handbook ( Chapman & Hall ).
JOHN D. PAVLIK, P.L.S.: John is currently the Manager of the Right of Way Department for a large County in Southern California. He attended Fullerton College and C.S.U. Fullerton and received a teaching credential at U.C. Riverside. He has taught surveying in both the C.S.U. system and in Community Colleges since 1983. He co-authored The Land Surveying Review Manual, ( C.S.U. Long Beach ) and the C.P.E.E. Engineering Survey Review Manual and has been an instructor at the Pacific Land Seminar L.S. and L.S.I.T. review work shops since their inception.
R. WILLIAM “BILL” GLASSEY, P.L.S.: Mr. Glassey is a Project Surveyor for a consulting engineering firm in Kent, WA. He is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Washington and Colorado. He is the 2001 President of the Land Surveyors’ Association of Washington. Educated at Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Colorado, he has more than 30 years of land surveying experience. Mr. Glassey was a contributing author of the recent publication Washington Real Estate Titles and Title Insurance and is co-instructor at the Pacific Land “Quasi-Judicial Functions of the Land Surveyor” workshop.
MICHAEL J. PALLAMARY, P.L.S.: Mr. Pallamary is Vice President of the Surveying and Mapping department of a national firm. He is a noted author and lecturer having had articles published in P.O.B. and Professional Surveyor magazines. Michael specializes in boundary reconstruction, deed interpretation, A.L.T.A. surveys, view easements and historical boundary analyses. He is a contributor to Advanced Land Descriptions ( Landmark ) authoring a landmark article on “View Easements”. He has been an invited lecturer at over 50 meetings and conferences such as California Land Surveyors’ Association Annual Conference, Cal-Poly Pomona Annual Conference, Joint U.S.F.S. / B.L.M. meeting, Illinois R.L.S. Association Annual Conference and many more. He has co- authored a book about the history of San Diego land surveying with the late Curt Brown and is currently working on the “Curt Brown Chronicles” being published by the Pacific Land Foundation.
DONALD A. WILSON, P.L.S., R.P.F.: Mr. Wilson is president of Land & Boundary Consultants, Inc., based in southeastern New Hampshire. He has been a full time consultant since 1977 and has dealt with boundary and title problems since 1964. A noted author and lecturer, he has presented hundreds of boundary related seminars nationally. Don has been involved with 23 books. He has co-authored Evidence and Procedures for Boundary Location and Boundary Control and Legal Principles (Wiley) and authored Easements and Reversions and Deed Descriptions I Have Known….But Could Have Lived Without ( Landmark). Don has also written a chapter on Boundary Surveys for The Surveying Handbook ( Chapman& Hall ). In addition to preparing over 150 technical publications in several areas, he has been involved with the research and compilation of subject matter for six boundary and surveying law books. Mr. Wilson is listed in Who’s Who.
DEAN J. BOULDIN, P.L.S.: Dean is currently a project manager for a prominent land surveying firm in Southern California. He began his surveying career in 1983 with a concentration in public agency projects. Dean has been an instructor at Santiago Canyon Community College since 1997, where he has taught the Introduction to Surveying, Advanced Problems, and Computer Aided Design for Surveyors classes. He has held the position of Education Committee Chair for the Orange County Chapter of the California Land Surveyor's Association and is currently the Treasurer of the California Foundation for Land Surveying Education. Dean was involved in the creation of the Pacific Land Seminar's PLS Exam Workshop and has assisted with the Pacific Land Seminar's LS Review Workshop.
